Ame Stormer, Ph.D
Medical Program Specialist
Ame Stormer joined COE in May 2008 and is serving as a Medical Program Specialist working with DHAPP and PEPFAR HIV/AIDS programs.
Prior to joining COE, Dr. Stormer served as the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation for the A2Z project at the Academy for Educational Development, USAID’s flagship micronutrient program. She designed monitoring systems, determined indicators of performance and established baselines for the ten program countries in Asia and Africa. Her work also involved collaboration with UNICEF, CDC and WHO for creating monitoring and evaluation frameworks for vitamin A programs and food fortification projects.
Dr. Stormer worked in the HIV/AIDs arena with Family Health International, providing program management and monitoring and evaluation support as well as conducting biological and behavioral surveillance for both focus and non-focus PEPFAR countries.
Dr. Stormer’s other international and domestic experience includes working for Helen Keller International in Indonesia, the Center of Human Nutrition at UCLA, and the World Rehabilitation Fund in El Salvador.
Dr. Stormer has a Masters degree from The American University in International Development, and a Masters of Public Health degree from UCLA. She received her Doctorate in Epidemiology and International Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Stormer speaks fluent Spanish and basic French and Bahasa Indonesian.
