LTC Thomas CrabtreeThomas Crabtree, COL, MD
Senior Medical Advisor

Dr. Crabtree received degrees from Harvard and Stanford Universities. He did his general surgery training in San Francisco, California and Tucson, Arizona. After three years of worldwide practice as a general and trauma surgeon, Dr. Crabtree completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship in Washington, D.C. He now practices in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In addition to his plastic surgery practice, Dr. Crabtree is an on-call trauma surgeon for the Pacific Regional Medical Command. He holds academic medical appointments with the John A. Burns School of medicine at the University of Hawaii and at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He serves on the Hawaii Medical Association Board of Governors and is President of the Hawaii Plastic Surgery Society.

His disaster medicine and humanitarian related experience ranges from the San Francisco earthquake to a six-month tour with the United Nations in a MASH hospital in the Balkans to providing surgical relief to the victims of the recent Papua New Guinea Tsunami.

Dr. Crabtree has worked with the Center of Excellence since 1997 and now heads the medical program since 2002.
