The South East Asia Peace Operations Symposium convened on Monday, July 10 at the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

In attendance were civilian and military representatives of 17 nations: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Madagascar, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Tonga.

The symposium was cosponsored by the Government of Thailand, the United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations, and the United States Army of the Pacific. It was hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and supported by the Center of Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance.
